What began with our first boy, Cabot, soon grew into a lifelong passion for the breed. At Spellbound, Dayna is dedicated to upholding the highest AKC standards, breeding champion-quality dogs with exceptional care and attention. Her Berners excel in the show ring and thrive as loving family companions, thanks to their sound temperaments and excellent health. As a proud member of BMDCV and Berner-Garde, Dayna puts the well-being of her dogs first, every step of the way.
The Spellbound Story
Spellbound Bernese began in August 2000 with the arrival of “Cabot” (Spellbound’s Cabot v Peacefield, CGC, TDI). Cabot was more than just our first Berner—he was a beloved family member, a joy to train, and a gentle therapy dog who worked with children in local schools as a reading assistance companion. He opened the door to a lifelong love of the breed and introduced us to a wonderful community of Bernese enthusiasts.In 2003, we welcomed our first girl, “Kiera” (Southwind Leave Me Spellbound, CGC). From the moment she arrived, Kiera had everything we hoped for—beauty, brains, and a loving heart. She earned her Canine Good Citizen title at just 4½ months old and quickly made her mark in the show ring, all while charming everyone she met.Over the years, our passion has grown into a commitment: to raise Bernese Mountain Dogs who are as beautiful in spirit as they are in appearance. Our dogs are cherished family members first, and many also go on to excel in activities like obedience, agility, therapy work, and carting. We believe in gentle, positive training and in giving each dog the love, care, and socialization they need to thrive.For us, breeding is not just about producing wonderful dogs—it’s about sharing the joy, loyalty, and heart that a Bernese Mountain Dog brings into your life.

Dayna and Scott are the heart and soul behind Spellbound Bernese. Together, they are proud parents of four, loving grandparents of two, and devoted dog parents to a lively pack of beloved Bernese Mountain Dogs.Dayna’s journey with Berners began over two decades ago, and from the first wagging tail, she was hooked. Her days are filled with the joy of raising, training, and loving these gentle giants, always striving to bring out the best in every dog she cares for. Scott shares that same passion—he’s a true lover of all living things, cherishing “man’s best friend” in every way. Whether lending a hand with puppy playtime, keeping the dogs entertained, or simply enjoying quiet moments with them, Scott’s gentle nature and big heart shine through.For both Dayna and Scott, breeding is more than a passion—it’s a way of life. Their home is filled with laughter, paw prints, and the unconditional love that only a Berner can give.
